Online Raffle Rules

Heads up, raffle fans! Only qualified non-profit organizations can host raffles. Sorry, but personal fundraisers are off-limits—no exceptions. Let’s keep the good vibes going for great causes!

Non-profit Organizations

Legal Stuff You Need to Know

The organization running the fundraiser must follow the laws in their state (and sometimes local rules, too).

But don’t worry—Prize with Purpose is your trusty service provider, here to guide you every step of the way! We’ll help you figure out if gaming permits are needed, since every state loves to play by its own rules.

Prize with Purpose is proudly based in the Commonwealth of Virginia and currently operates under Virginia’s raffle laws. If your organization is located outside of Virginia, hang tight—we’re working on expanding to other states very soon!

In Virginia, raffles are considered Charitable Gaming and are regulated by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), specifically through the Office of Charitable and Regulatory Programs (OCRP). The main law governing these activities is the Charitable Gaming Law (Va. Code § 18.2-340.15 et seq.), along with detailed regulations.

Where We Operate (for Now)

Good news for raffle lovers everywhere:

You can purchase raffle tickets from anywhere, and you don’t need to live in Virginia to win. So no matter where you call home, you’re welcome to join the fun and take a shot at amazing prizes!

Who’s Eligible to Buy & Win?

Shipping & Delivery.

Some raffle prizes are large, heavy, or fragile and may require local delivery or pickup. If a prize package can be shipped, the listing will clearly state that—so always check the details before you enter!
